The Artbeat of New India
The Artbeat of New India is a curation of India's finest art programme installed at Mumbai airport’s Terminal 2. The Artbeat of New India, is a tribute to India’s incredible diversity, spanning the wide spectrum of art, craft and design that is the soul of the country. About 100 artists came together with some 1,000 artisans from 20 states to put up these traditional and contemporary works of art in various parts of the terminal. Approximately 5,500 exquisite ethnographic objects, some of them 200 years old, were sourced exclusively for the programme.
The ArtBeat of New India, previously known as Jaya He Museum, is located at CSM International Airport in Mumbai. Situated within a high-security transit area, this airport is among the 50 busiest in the world. With the recent addition of gamification features, the app now offers travelers interactive games, quizzes, and challenges that transform waiting time into an engaging exploration of India’s heritage, adding a hands-on experience to cultural appreciation.

The ArtBeat of India app employs unique storytelling techniques to enhance the understanding and appreciation of large-format artworks displayed throughout the airport. The app features several engaging gamified elements, including a Quiz Game where users answer multiple-choice questions, testing their knowledge of the exhibits. The Puzzle Game challenges users to drag and drop pieces of an image to restore it to its original composition, providing a fun and interactive way to engage with the artworks. In the Pair Up game, users pair images with their corresponding text descriptions, enhancing recognition and understanding of the exhibits. The Click and Match game takes users on a virtual treasure hunt, where they must locate actual exhibits or paintings in the museum and photograph them to match with reference images provided. With five exciting levels, players earn points for their successes, unlocking more challenging mysteries and winning badges as they progress, thereby enriching their journey through India’s artistic landscape.
